Motorhome Norway (the “Site”) is an online booking service for motorhome and campervan rentals in Norway. We work as a booking agent: the vehicles are rented out by local rental providers, and we take care of your reservation.
This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Site, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), as it applies in the European Economic Area.
Who is responsible for your data

What personal data we collect
We only collect the data we need to answer you and to arrange your rental:
- When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number (optional), booking number (optional) and the content of your message.
- When you make a booking: your first and last name, email address, phone number, country, number of travellers and the details of the rental (vehicle, dates, pick-up and drop-off location, insurance and extras). Depending on the booking, we may also ask for the driver's date of birth, your flight number and arrival time, and any comments you want to add.
- When you pay: the online payment is made on the secure payment page of our payment provider, Rapyd. We do not receive or store your full card details; we only receive the result of the payment and its reference.
- When you browse the Site: technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, language, the pages you visit and the page you came from. Part of this data is collected through cookies and similar technologies, as explained in our cookies policy.
Why we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:
- To manage your booking (performance of a contract): creating the reservation, passing it on to the rental provider, processing the payment and sending you the confirmation and other messages about your rental.
- To answer your questions (your request and our legitimate interest in providing customer service) when you write to us through the contact form, by email or by phone.
- To comply with our legal obligations, such as accounting and tax rules.
- To keep the Site secure and working (legitimate interest): preventing fraud and misuse, and detecting and fixing technical errors.
- To understand how the Site is used and to measure our advertising (your consent): analytics and marketing tools are used on the basis of your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time from our cookies policy.
- To send you news and offers (your consent), only if you have asked to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with those who need it to provide the service:
- The rental provider of your vehicle. The company that rents out the motorhome or campervan you book receives your booking and contact details so that it can prepare the vehicle and sign the rental agreement with you at pick-up. The provider is responsible for the data it processes for the rental itself.
- Our booking platform. The reservation system behind the Site is run by a technology provider that processes booking data on our behalf.
- Rapyd, our payment provider, which processes your online payment.
- Technical service providers that host the Site and deliver our emails.
- Google (Google Tag Manager and the analytics and advertising tools loaded through it), on the basis of your consent to analytics and marketing cookies.
- Public authorities, when the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of the providers mentioned above may process data outside the European Economic Area. When that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. Booking and payment records are kept for the period required by accounting and tax law. Messages sent through the contact form are kept for as long as it takes to deal with your request and any follow-up.
How we protect your data
The Site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. These rights may be limited in some cases, for example when we must keep certain data to comply with the law.
